Janelle lives in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Franklin, and toddler daughter, Elizabeth. She teaches instrumental, choral, and general music at Hinkletown Mennonite School and regularly practices the art of composition. Creative and heartfelt music making in a context where students are relaxed, engaged, and confident is Janelle’s passion. She received her Bachelors of Science in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University with an oboe performance certificate and her Master of Music from Sam Houston State University at the American Band College in Ashland, Oregon. Before moving to Mount Joy, Janelle taught instrumental music in public schools in Bethlehem and Center Valley, Pennsylvania and later lived in Ecuador for five and a half years where she taught composition, piano, violin and guitar.
