Jiyoung Um (born in 1971) graduated from Juilliard, receiving his bachelor's and master's degrees in violin performance. He also did his doctorate study in music education at Columbia University. He has given solo performances at Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center, and has been featured as a soloist around the world. Mr. Um has served in a music faculty at Biola University and Mariners Christian School. He is an award-winning ASCAP composer, and published over 100 educational orchestra compositions and arrangements. Some of his compositions have been recorded and released by SONY Music. As a writer, Mr. Um has written and published two books, “Collaborative Learning in Music” and “Daily Obedience”.
